We are in contact with this physical world by the use of our senses. We also come in contact with God by using our spiritual senses. God wanted Adam and Eve to see the beauty of the Garden of Eden and be in touch with it. What eyes are to the body is what faith is to the spirit.  We can’t walk by sight; we have to walk by faith. The enemy wants to knock our faith down but God desires to connect with our spirit. We need to care for, cover, and protect our faith. It helps us to see the invisible and look beyond our circumstances.

Our spirit will experience the tastes of bitterness, salty, sweet, and sour. These things can be helped through prayer. O, taste and see that the Lord is good. Take time and savour His presence. Meditate on Him and give it time to digest.

The sense of smell will give us hope. If a tree is cut down, at the scent of water it will spring forth again. If you have hope, you will not walk in darkness. Faith is strength to fight, hope is strength to endure, and charity is strength to submit. If you love Him; you will submit to Him. Hope is not inferior to faith. Exercise yourself in hope; there is power in it.

The spiritual ear of hearing is reverence to God. God invites us to the throne of grace and if we are listening we will know when that time is right. The greatest thing you can do for yourself is to hear the voice of God. If we are having a hard time hearing then we are having a respect problem. We need spiritual ears that will hear.

Touch God in worship. Reach out as He passes by. The lady that washed Jesus’ feet didn’t care what the critics said; she just knew she had to touch the Master. In times when you don’t feel God; worship Him. Our answer is not in the flesh; it is in a relationship with Jesus. We must worship Him in spirit and in truth. Jesus always has a table spread for those who hunger after Him and want more.
