"A Worthy House"

Sunday, March 1st, was a day of new beginnings. The Family Worship Center in Sault Ste. Marie celebrated its first service in a beautiful new building! For the past three years, Bro. & Sis. Andrew Goodine have faithfully set up and tore down music equipment, chairs, etc. for approximately 150 church services. Having this permanent location to worship in is truly an answered prayer.

Saturday was spent constructing a platform, cleaning, scrubbing, and setting up chairs. A wonderful group from the Plaster Rock campus gave of their time and energy to help prepare this building to become a House of Worship.

Sunday morning started with a wonderful time of prayer. God's presence was manifest in a special way as guests and saints filled the room. 30+ were in attendance. After the service, lunch was served. Homemade gnocchi/ravioli, meatballs, and cupcakes baked with love were on the menu. Another service was held that evening. Many were touched and renewed as the presence of God once again filled the house.

True direction and vision were cast and we are anticipating exciting things to unfold in the future!

Here is an update Bro. Andrew Goodine sent to us at the end of February...

In December, we launched an initiative to fill backpacks with a few necessities, and give them to people we felt could use them. This was driven by a need that we saw while passing through one particular part of our city, which is known for substance abuse and prostitution. Day and night, you can find people under the influence, improperly dressed for the weather, and not having eaten for days, due to spending all of their living feeding their addictions. Among other necessities, there is a Bible, a church card, and a hand-written note telling them that they are loved and that there is a church praying for them. Pray that God will work through our feeble efforts and rescue some of these desperate souls.

Bro. & Sis. Robert Grant were with us during the month of December. We were blessed by their fellowship and ministry. Bro. Grant preached timely and anointed messages, and was a great blessing to our church.

The daughter of one of our new converts came to Canada for a few weeks during the month of December to the end of January. She has been searching for something to satisfy the emptiness she has been feeling. Her mom told her she needed to get what she got, the Holy Ghost! Pray that God will continue to work in her life.

We were tremendously blessed in the month of January with the unparalleled ministry of Bishop & Meme McKillop. What a weekend we had! The Word of God was made even richer by the presence of God that accompanied.
