He Restores My Soul
Life has a way of taking things from us little by little. Joy fades. Passion cools. Confidence weakens. We lose ground we never intended to lose. But Psalm 23 gives us a powerful reminder: “He restoreth my soul.”
God is not only the Shepherd who leads us—He is the Restorer who comes looking when we wander, lifts us when we stumble, and brings us back when we’ve lost our way. Restoration is not an exception to His character; it is part of who He is.
And sometimes His greatest work begins where nobody else can see it. Before circumstances change, before everything is put back together, God can begin restoring something deep within the soul. Joy can return. Faith can rise again. Hope can breathe again.
But restoration doesn’t stop with us. When God has carried us, forgiven us, and restored what we thought was lost, He calls us to extend that same grace to someone else. Scripture says, “Ye which are spiritual, restore such an one…”
So don’t give up on the person who has wandered. Don’t keep a record of everything that went wrong. Don’t decide they’ve gone too far. The same Shepherd who restored you is still restoring souls today.
And restored people restore people.
