The Answer Has Never Changed

There is perhaps no more important question a person could ever ask than the one found in Acts 16: “What must I do to be saved?”
It is a question that has echoed through generations. Humanity is still searching for peace, purpose, forgiveness, and hope. And the beautiful reality is this: if the question is still the same, then God’s answer is still the same.
When the jailer in Acts asked how to be saved, he wasn’t looking for religion, tradition, or empty routine. He was desperate for a real encounter with God. The Bible reveals that salvation is more than simply believing that God exists. True faith always leads to response and transformation. Throughout the Book of Acts, people responded to the Gospel through repentance, water baptism, and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Again and again, Scripture points to baptism as part of God’s plan of salvation. Every recorded salvation account in Acts included water baptism. It was not treated as a meaningless ritual or a religious tradition, but as an act of obedience and faith. The early church baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, understanding the power and authority found in His name.
Jesus Himself declared in John 3 that “Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” Being born again is not symbolic language alone — it is a spiritual transformation that God desires for every life. Just as natural birth involves both water and spirit, spiritual birth includes baptism and the infilling of the Holy Ghost.
The promise of the Holy Ghost is not reserved for a select few. It is not only for Bible days or church leaders. God is still filling ordinary people with His Spirit today. Hearts are still being changed. Lives are still being restored. Chains are still breaking.
The Bible describes believers receiving the Holy Ghost and speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. What happened in the Book of Acts was never meant to stay in history — it is still available today for anyone hungry enough to seek after God.
And perhaps the most encouraging truth of all is this: God still reaches for people exactly where they are. You do not need a perfect past to come to Him. You do not need to have everything figured out.You do not have to clean yourself up before responding to His call.
Jesus is still saving.
Jesus is still restoring.
Jesus is still filling people with His Spirit.
The invitation remains open.
If you have been searching for more, asking deeper questions, or feeling something pull at your heart, could it be that it's God drawing you closer to Him? The same God who answered the jailer’s question in Acts is still answering people today — and the answer is still the same.
