The Possibility Of The Impossible

“Is anything too hard for the Lord?” — Genesis 18:14
The story of Abraham and Sarah in Genesis 18 presents a promise that defied every natural expectation. Both were advanced in age, and the possibility of having a child had long since passed. Sarah even laughed at the thought. But God's response was simple and profound: “Is anything too hard for the Lord?”
God was not limited by their circumstances, their age, or their understanding. He had made a promise, and at the appointed time, He would fulfill it.
Looking Beyond the Impossible
One of the greatest battles of faith is learning where to focus our attention.
In the Garden of Eden, God gave Adam and Eve an abundance of trees from which they could freely eat. Yet the enemy directed their attention toward the one tree that was forbidden.
The enemy wants us consumed by what we cannot do, what we do not have, and what seems beyond our reach. He would rather we focus on our limitations than recognize the abundance of God's promises. Faith changes our focus from what seems impossible to the One who makes all things possible.
Keep Walking Toward the Promise
God's promises do not always unfold according to our preferred timeline.
Abraham received the promise of a land that his descendants would possess, yet during his lifetime, he saw only a small portion of that inheritance become his own. Still, he continued walking in faith. Obedience is not dependent upon immediately seeing the results.
Sometimes the greatest resistance comes when we are closest to the fulfillment of what God has promised. The waiting becomes uncomfortable, the opposition intensifies, and discouragement whispers that nothing will ever change.
But faith keeps walking.
One step at a time. One act of obedience after another.
God may already have something prepared that we cannot yet see.
When God Changes the Story
No situation is beyond God's ability to change.
Whether facing broken relationships, overwhelming circumstances, spiritual struggles, or promises that seem delayed, we must never allow impossibility to become greater in our minds than the power of God.
The possibility of the impossible is found in trusting the God for whom nothing is too hard.
Keep believing. Keep obeying. Keep walking. God is still able.
