"But If Not..."

Faith is often measured by what we receive—but heaven may measure it by what we refuse to let go of. Hebrews 11 reminds us of men and women who “died in faith” without seeing every promise fulfilled. That can be difficult for us to understand. We pray, we believe, we wait… and sometimes the answer doesn’t come when—or how—we expected.

But real faith isn’t only proven in breakthrough. It’s proven in endurance. Like the three Hebrew boys who declared, “Our God is able… but if not…” their worship was not dependent on the outcome. Their confidence in God was bigger than the fire in front of them.

And maybe that’s where some of us are today—waiting, wondering, holding on. But here’s the challenge: don’t let waiting make your faith smaller.

There’s something powerful about bringing God a request so big that only He can answer it. Not because He needs to be convinced of His power—but because bold faith honors His greatness. The story was told of a young soldier who asked Napoleon for an entire island, and Napoleon granted it because he said the young man honored him by the magnitude of his request. How much more does our God delight when His people believe Him for what seems impossible?

Ask big.

Pray bold.

Believe beyond what you can see.

God is not intimidated by the size of your need. In fact, your impossible situation may be the very place where His glory is revealed. So keep showing up. Keep praying. Keep trusting.

Even if the answer tarries, faith says: God is still able. And sometimes the greatest act of worship is not just waiting—but daring to believe Him for more while you do.
